STORY: In March of 2015, Morgan and Sally welcomed their daughter, Claire, to the world. Keeping with tradition, they dedicated a new wine to her when harvest rolled around that year. Morgan’s love for Grenache began in 2007, and the arrival of Claire gave him a new inspiration to make a singular, beautiful expression of Washington Grenache.
Boushey Vineyard was chosen for this wine because what was (and still is) coming from that patch of dirt is such an incredible version of Iberian and Rhône varietals. Thus, it just felt right. That, and the fact that Dick and Luanne Boushey have always treated our kids as if they were their own. Claire (the girl) is as gorgeous and sweet as she is unpredictable and infuriating. Grenache is the same way, so it all makes sense.
Morgan and Sally talked about what this label should be, and Sally said that she wanted lace. Something as pretty as our little girl. That’s it and that is all.
