STORY: Our single-vineyard Syrah series was created to showcase the depth and diversity of Washington State Syrah, by bottling small, barrel-select parcels of some of our most prized vineyards. Each Syrah in the series was fermented and aged identical to the next to portray how incredibly different Syrah can act depending on the soil it is grown in. Bob Betz, MW once called Syrah “The chameleon of Washington wine.” This Syrah is named as such because it took 7 years to get this fruit from Boushey Vineyard, despite having a close working relationship with them during that entire time. Quite literally we were on the waiting list. Boushey Syrah is coveted by Washington winemakers and wine lovers for a good reason. It’s stunning stuff.
The label is Morgan’s depiction of being on a literal waiting list. He also drew this on the couch one night with a pencil, but had Sally write Two Vintners on it because her handwriting is much nicer.
