STORY:
Everyone knows that Merlot gets a bad rap. And maybe Merlot deserved the discrimination at one time. But that time is over. Merlot, and especially Washington State Merlot is big and bold and as delicious as any red wine out there. Truly world class stuff.
In that spirit, we bring you City Limits Detour. Detour is a Merlot based red wine from the incredible Columbia Valley in Eastern Washington. It delivers rich, vibrant fruit with elegant tannins and mouthwatering acidity. So, while everyone is on the main road, take a Detour and drink some f$@&ing Merlot already!
The image on the Detour label is the ventilation building for the Highway 99 tunnel that runs under the markets and skyscrapers of Seattle. In 2013, the world's largest tunnel boring machine arrived in Seattle on a ship from Japan and was named Bertha. Bertha had a diameter of 57.5 feet and was lowered into the ground to dig a 9,300-foot tunnel under the city to replace the aging, crumbling and earthquake-prone Alaskan Way Viaduct along the Emerald City's waterfront. It took Bertha 4 years to complete her journey. Talk about a Detour.
